so close but not there yet.

it always seems that the last hundred kilometers of the skate take forever. we knew the end was close but we just could not seem to get there…literally.

.

the day was spent studying maps, searching for signs and driving in circles, it pushed us all to the limit. then, right before we were about to call it, we found the road we had been searching for all day; and it was absolutely breathtaking.
.

the sun was setting as rob pushed through the last few kilometers and crossed the france border into spain. it has been a challenging journey but we all made it.

After a long afternoon on the Internet trying to figure out where to go next Louie (the hitchhiker we picked up the other day) appeared out of nowhere. We were all in the van pulling onto the street when Louie, bare foot, ran up to us. He was so happy to have caught us and instantly offered showers, a place to camp and to ‘make party’, as he said.

As it turns out it was France’s national holiday so we walked into the middle of a family party.

Days like those are unbelievably comforting when you are on the road, away from everything and everyone that you know.

i am constantly asked what it is like being the only girl on the road, living with a bunch of boys. to be honest i rarely notice. rob is more like a brother to me then anything else so with him it is just like living with a sibling. as for the rest of the guys, none of them treat me like a girl either. it was even decided before i got here that things would not change even though a girl was coming on the road. all of the guys decided they would continue to act and talk exactly the same and so it really doesn’t seem like i am any different.

its actually taught me a lot about guys, the two main things being – they pretty much have one topic that they talk about the majority of the time and girls, you have absolutely nothing to worry, you are all attractive.
